Monday, March 31, 2025 5:18PM CDT U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins spent Monday in Iowa touting investments in biofuels as a way to increase demand for farm products. Rollins acknowledged USDA is getting ready for possible trade retaliation as President Donald Trump readies his tariff announcement on Wednesday.
Monday, March 31, 2025 2:52PM CDT USDA's March 1 (2025) Prospective Planting and quarterly Grain Stocks report held little fanfare for the corn market despite the prospective corn coming in 1.1 million acres above the Dow Jones average estimate. Wheat, on the other hand, got a boost from an all-wheat planting number that was 900,000 acres lower than expectations. Soybean acres held little in the way of surprise, estimated to be just slightly below pre-report expectations. March 1 stocks for all three ag commodities finished close to expectations.
Monday, March 31, 2025 11:53AM CDT USDA released its Prospective Plantings and quarterly Grain Stocks reports on Monday.

The only livestock contract that closed higher Monday was April hogs, as it is adjusting to the underlying cash. Livestock futures did not find buying interest due to the uncertainty of the impact of tariffs on the economy and demand when implemented on Wednesday.
